Financial Controller and Company Secretary
Alex is a chartered accountant with experience in taxation, management accounting and financial reporting. His role involves overseeing the Company’s accounting operations, statutory reporting, budgeting and tax management. Alex has also played a key role in establishing and managing Carnarvon’s Timor-Leste operations.
As an associate of the Governance Institute of Australia, Alex jointly performs the Company Secretary role in which he manages Carnarvon’s corporate governance framework and regulatory compliance.
Annie joined the team in 2019 and has several years accounting experience in the resources industry, currently Annie is looking after all in house accounting matters at both the Perth head office and the Timor-Leste subsidiary.
Laura has been with Carnarvon a year now; she is the first point of contact for most people when they come calling.
Laura assists with accounts payable, maintaining general office upkeep, and helping out colleagues with day-to-day tasks.
Corporate Development Manager
Adam is a reservoir engineer with over 13 years of commercial and technical experience in oil & gas asset due diligence, valuation, and transactions.
His role involves assessing and managing new strategic and growth opportunities and assist the CEO and board with setting strategic direction.
Before joining Carnarvon, Adam was Business Development Manager for Senex Energy where he led the sale of the Cooper Basin assets to Beach Energy and played an integral part in the development of the corporate strategy.
Gavan is a senior in-house lawyer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, including project execution, operations, product offtake and marketing, intellectual property, deal delivery and corporate advisory.
Gavan has nearly 20 years legal experience, having previously worked in Australia and overseas for Shell, KUFPEC and Tap Oil Limited, as well as in private practice for Ashurst and Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
Gavan has had direct involvement in three of the largest LNG projects in Australia, taking the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG Projects to FID, and leading legal support on the Prelude FLNG Project during the execute phase, while at Shell. He also supported KUFPEC’s interest in the Wheatstone LNG Project during the execute, and operations, phases.
Gavan holds formal post-graduate qualifications from the Governance Institute of Australia in corporate governance and risk management, with broad risk and compliance experience in both a listed, and unlisted, environment.
Roisin helps locate the possibility of oil and gas by building a clear picture of what is below the Earth’s surface using seismic, gravitational, magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic methods.
She has played a key role in the Cerberus and Carnarvon Basin New Ventures, and thrives on figuring out where our next success lies.
Part of Borzou’s role is to use his petrophysical skills to give more of an insight of exploration projects potential for oil or gas. Through interpretation and integration of data, Borzou helps the team understand the rock properties and reservoir quality.
Borzou played a key role in log analysis during drilling operation and post drilling studies of Phoenix South, Roc and Dorado wells.
Studying how the Earth looked millions of years ago Claudia has been able to provide Regional Seismic Interpretation of the Roebuck Basin and Browse Basin.
Claudia has been actively involved in the recent gazettal rounds helping Carnarvon secure more quality exploration acreage around the greater Phoenix area.
George studies the rock in the NWS to help understand its exploration viability. George is currently regionally mapping the Bonaparte Basin, focusing on the prospectivity of Pre-Triassic stratigraphy.
George joined Carnarvon in 2015 and believes the NWS is underexplored, he is looking forward to helping Carnarvon build an exciting exploration portfolio.
Mark has over 30 years Oil & Gas industry experience, with many years working internationally across Europe and Asia Pacific.
Previous roles as Country General Manager for Jadestone Energy Australia, Oil Assets Manager at Quadrant/Apache Energy and Senior General Manager of Operations for Maersk, working in various Senior project and operational positions throughout the world.
Mark has a substantial leadership and operational background in production, operations, marine, maintenance, subsea operations, drilling and projects within the Oil and Gas Industry. Has proven abilities to achieve the strategic business goals without compromising safety or integrity, and extensive experience in, Transitioning Assets and delivering to achieve growth, reduce costs and strengthen performance
Business Process Manager
Big data and efficient information technology is the future and Graham ensures these functions help the technical operations of our business. Graham’s recent focus has been the complete upgrade of all of our IT systems to manage our rapidly growing geological database. Graham is constantly looking for ways in which computer systems and new technology can improve the way our people work and enhance the opportunities to discover more oil and gas.
Graham also provides HSE management including environmental submissions to the government when seeking approvals for drilling.
Luke obtained first-class honours at Curtin University for Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering, he showed his quality during vacation work at Carnarvon and joined the team in January 2016.
Part of Luke’s role is to design, test and implement efficient methods for extracting petroleum products from Roc, Phoenix South, Dorado and Buffalo assets.
Jackie has been an integral part of the Carnarvon exploration team for the past 10 years, assisting the exploration team build their large technical database.
Jackie has a varied role here at CVN from hunting data down to submitting government documentation for all assets one day is never the same.
After joining the team as a student in 2016, Ivan was offered the role of Junior Petrophysicist in 2019. Digitizing data and calculating rock properties to add to Carnarvon Petroleum’s geological database. Essentially, improving the understanding of reservoir, seal and source rock characteristics, boosting the teams ability to asses the economic viability of prospects being mapped by the Geoscience team.
